Franco Albini (1905 – 1977) was an Italian Neo-Rationalist architect and designer. Through his furniture designs, he merged Italian traditional artisanship with new forms of modernism, resulting in elegant designs with a minimalist aesthetic. Albini won three Compasso d'Oro awards, the most prestigious Italian design prize.
As an architect, he was known for his public housing in Milan. Albini was also editor of "Casabella" magazine from 1945-1946.
