Axis Mundi Begins Design
on Bond Street Loft
Design has begun on an amazing 4,000 sq. ft. loft.
The Robbins & Appleton Building is a historic building
located at 1-5 Bond Street in New York. Built in 1871,
the building was used to manufacture watch cases.
It was designed by architect Stephen Decatur Hatch
in the Second Empire style. The building features an
ornate cast iron facade and stunning blue mansard roof.

Axis Mundi is nearing completion of an extensive
renovation of a duplex apartment in the former Gimbel’s
department store. The design for a three bedroom
apartment features two curved folded steel staircases.

Jovani, a designer of glamorous cocktail and evening

headquarters in the Garment Center.

Townhouse Renovation
Construction has begun on a 3,000 sq. ft townhouse
(built in 1899). The extensive renovation is schedule
for fall 2013 completion date.
Early American Modernism
Axis Mundi has acquired a rare pair of museum quality
Westport/Adirondack chairs manufactured by Harry C. Bunnell
in 1905. Bunnell received a patent for the design after his
hunting buddy, Thomas Lee, developed the chair in 1903.
